Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one of the popular PS3 games and maintains itself at the top of the multiplayer charts. The “Stimulus Package” adds three new multiplayer maps, as well as “Crash” and “Overgrown,” two fan favorite maps from the original Modern Warfare. It also offers other various small tweaks to the multiplayer gameplay.
The DLC, a timed Xbox 360 exclusive, arrived at a $15 dollar price point that many gamers criticized, yet still paid. (2.5 million gamers in the first week, to be exact.) A price has not been officially announced for the PS3 and PC versions, but it is expected to remain the same. The update’s release on the 360 also came with some technical glitches, including disappearing maps, but the situation is not expected to occur with the PS3 and PC release.
The maps launched exclusively for Xbox 360 on May 30, and a little over a month doesn’t seem like a very long wait for gamers who prefer other platforms. In fact, PS3 and PC gamers might even be thankful they avoided having to deal with the numerous hiccups that accompanied the Stimulus Package’s initial release. Apparently caused by a parallel title update, Xbox 360 gamers experienced everything from disappearing map images to the the maps being completely broken.
